Making Santa's Visit Special

Our goal: make your visit merry, magical, and memorable! To that end, please review this list of preparation ideas:

1. Add Santa to Your Phone
Save this number: 515-229-2724
List it under Santa Claus or Kris Kringle

You can attach his photo for fun!

2. Santa’s Arrival Text
Santa will text you when he’s five minutes away.
That’s your cue to gather everyone together—maybe start some carols!

3. Be Camera-Ready
Charge phones and cameras, check lighting, and clear memory for plenty of photos.

4. Have a Greeter
Assign someone to meet Santa when he arrives and guide him to your photo area.
If gifts are involved, your greeter can:

  • Help Santa pull gifts from his bag

  • Read off unique names from the Nice List or tags

5. If Supplying Gifts:
Label each gift clearly.
Place them all in one large (35-gallon) trash bag—Santa can slip that right into his red sack from your hiding place.

6. Create a Festive Photo Area
Set Santa near the tree or a holiday backdrop (but not near a fire). Leave a little space for group photos and family shots.

7. A Chair for Santa

Provide a sturdy, straight-backed chair without arms. This makes it easier for kids to sit on Santa and share their wishes.

8. When Santa Sits Down
If space allows, children can gather on the floor around Santa. Shy or nervous little ones can stay with their parents—never force a visit.
Santa will share stories and laughter to create magical memorable moments for everyone.

He will then invite each child (and adults if they wish) to sit with him and whisper their Christmas wishes. This is also a great photo op time.
